Memories….aren’t we all filled with them? The kind that are a little misty and magical, like a dream but real. They seem so close we can almost touch them - yet they are safely tucked away …
For me, making this announcement is like a dream come true. I mean, come on, look at this photo on the left. It’s me – in my senior year of high school proudly wearing a blue velvet Gunne Sax with white lace for the Valentine’s dance at North Hagerstown (MD) High School circa 1987. Yes, that’s the entry way to my parents living room….seems like it couldn’t be over 30 years ago…
And the memories…and the DRESS. Oh! How I LOVED that dress (wish I still had it, seriously). It just felt like it was perfect, everything about it – the fabric, the fit, the color and the lace – and I loved the long-waist and ruffle around the hem. I felt terrific in it, like when I put it on – it had a magic wand effect and I could just float along, smiling.
When my best friend from high school and I were looking through pictures just a few months ago – we both couldn’t help but have a Gunne “moment”. She too found a photo of the two of us from high school – where she was the one wearing a very similar Gunne (hers was the knit version of my velvet!)
All the women out there who grew up wearing Gunne to their own special occasions – you know exactly what happened…
We stopped, took a deep breath, paused for a minute while noticing our hand was on our chest and started saying something like….”Oh, look at that dress….remember when…” and then came the big smiles and the gentle, knowing shake of the head…and the laughter and the stories….

Why? because our dreams do come true. When we (at team McClintock) were thinking about how to bring Gunne back… we decided it HAD to involve all of us who lived in and LOVED the brand – as it’s part of our collective, cherished memories.

WHAT is “McCLINTOCK MOMENTS”?
McClintock Moments campaign will launch with McClintock Prom- the first of many monthly themes.
The posts will then appear on the McClintock feeds and at the end of each themed period (Prom runs until Friday, May 20th) the brand will announce the MOST McClintock Moment.
